Buddhdev on Gordon Brown
Mr Gordon Brown is an excellent chancellor. Instead of apologies for the mistakes of the previous administration, he needs to capture the mood of his party, particularly, the reshaping of our public services and the role of the private sector investment.
He would need to draw a firm line in both, the philosophical and political tones; that a point beyond which his administration would not allow engagement of the market forces and the private sector in planning and running of the key public services such as education, health, and pension and crime prevention.
If he manages to produce a convincing political stand which ensures that the public money reaches to the front line of the services provisions and not dissipated in administration or pockets of private shareholders, he will be hailed as a hero within the party and perhaps succeed in arresting the advances of Mr. David Cameron or even frustrating his campaign strategy too!
